Biracial hair products..........?

So I have asked this question before but I am still having "frizz" issues with my daughter.

What products are good to use? My daughter's hair is very curly but smooth and long...I have used lotions but they seem to greasy for my daughter's hair. I have used "mixed" products but they don't seem to work either.

Any suggestions.. I am at a loss.

Biracial hair products..........?

I'm mixed race too..honestly its really hard to find the best products because most products are made for white hair (which won't work) or black hair (which is too greasy). The only 2 that have worked for me are:

Any of these line of products for thick/course/frizzy hair from Nioxin http://www.nioxin.com/go/products/smooth...

OR

Any of these products from Matrix:

http://www.matrix.com/products/biolage/s...

Also try to comb products into her hair, braid it and let her sleep on it...her hair will be a lot more controlled in the morning.

Good luck!

Do hairloss-treatment products like Rogaine work?

And I don't mean just making your hair look thicker. Or just prolonging the inevitable baldness. I mean, are there any hair-loss treatment products out there that actually makes hair grow back and look good? :P I'm still pretty young, so I'm hoping there are.

Do hairloss-treatment products like Rogaine work?

There's a pill - finasteride (brand name Propecia) that blocks the metabolization of testesterone into its active form, so it will help male-pattern hair loss.

In a 5-year study of men with mild to moderate hair loss, 48% of those treated with Propecia (finasteride 1mg) experienced some regrowth of hair, and 42% had no further loss. Propecia is effective only for as long as it is taken; the hair gained or maintained is lost within 6-12 months of ceasing therapy

Yes but when you stop using them the stop working, so you need to make a commitment.

Female hair loss?

hi i had always had issues with hair loss. until now in my 30s i have lost most of my hair on the front of my head. the problem with my head and hair is my scalp is dry but at the same time it's oily. i have to wash my hair everyday or my hair is so oily and smelly. i need help i dont have alot of money and i can't be trying all this products. i dont have thyroid i checked i was told it's hereditary. help anyone

Female hair loss?

You know sometimes when it's hereditary you can't do too much about it. Difficult to accept, yes.But there are all kinds of things out there which are supposed to stop hair loss- minoxidil, saw palmetto, .. I was losing some hair and i tried dr. schulze's female formula, which balances your hormones and I thought it worked. Otherwise just eat a healthy diet, try excercising everyday, try doing a scalp massage as part of your excercise routine everyday. Hair transplants are expensive and you need to have thick hair in the donor area for it to work well. They talk about hair cloning which will become possible in a few years., read about it on google if you can, it's supposed to be a blessing for all kinds of people with all kinds of hairloss.. . Dr. Klein has a product called remox, which is a combination of minoxidil and retin A which is supposed to work well if used for a period of time, you can google it down too.You can also try to fix a shower filter to your shower,it makes the water softer and your hair healthier and then have a final rinse with water and apple cider vinegar. Try a protein pack on your hair once a week. these things will definitely help this dry/oily problem you mention. I'm just trying to let you know whatever i know about this. I'm sorry about what you're going through. Stay positive.

Female hair loss?

you can't be sure until you see a doctor and have tests done to determine why the hair loss?

Pls help..

Pls help on my hair loss issues?

Try viewing this Dateline NBC video on hair loss. Might give you some ideas. It reviewed Propecia, Rogaine, Viviscal, laser hair comb, and hair transplant with 5 men over 1 year. The results are encouraging. One of the guys plan to mix and match the treatment. I believe it's the laser hair comb with Propecia for future growth.

I say if you have a nice shaped head then just shave it off then go to a tanning bed to get a little color to it. I shaved mine at 20 and at 26 now, the girls still love it! =] Ask the question to the ladies if a bald shaved head is sexy or not on a guy.

Pls help on my hair loss issues?

Just shave your head.

Pls help on my hair loss issues?

I hope you are not using any shampoo at all. Stopping the use of shampoo reduces hair fall by about 30-40%.

I don't know where you are from, but in India there are certain powders like soapnut powder, shikakai powder, neem powder and amla powder. If you mix these to make a paste, apply it on your head and leave it on for half an hour before bathing, it will surely help you. You can use the powder to wash your hair everyday too - and leave it on for half hour twice a week.

Also, apply 1/2 tsp oil (coconut or brahmi) everyday and wash your hair Everyday. Taking a head bath everyday reduces hairfall drastically.

i do not know of any ideas to help speed up the growth of hair but i guess healthy hair will aids hair growth...

use egg white after u shampoo your hair. after shampooing your hair, rinse off then apply egg white on hair n scalp, leave it on for 5-10mins and rinse off wit cold water then use ur conditional.

it works for me but u have to constantly do it... maybe once every 2-3days. do it for 3months n u will see the long lasting result. (the duration depends on how worse ur hair condition is currently)

only use the egg white n not the egg york. coz egg white has protein. depend on ur hair length, if urs is short, 1 will do, if long, maybe u will need 2.

eggs are cheaper alternative for hair care treatment.

do not try this method if u r allergic to eggs.

u can also try adding salt when shampooing your hair, it will prevent hair loss n ur hair will not turn white so fast...(it is nv too early to do prevention) my mum is using tis method now and it works too. =)

Pls help on my hair loss issues?

i know for a fact that for male pattern hair loss only finasteride and minoxidil (regain) is scientifically proven to prevent hair loss, because male pattern baldness is caused by hormones in our body so "hair loss" products that stimulate blood circulation and various other things do not help. however i personally feel that the both, has not been able to encourage the regrowth of hair. the only way is to go for a hair transplant, this method puts hair back on the bald areas, and is a permanent solution, though a costly one.

I am planning to use a Laser Comb to control my hair loss.?

Is that a good product. Would that help me to control hair loss with no side effects. Also please let me know how about HairMax LaserComb

If you're balding, there's not much you can do. It's all in the genes. Just make sure you have a GREAT stylist and you don't go for those terrible comb overs. My husband used to have lots of hair, but it's mostly gone now - he's still HOT in my old eyes though :-)

How can I slow or stop hair loss?

I'm 19 and the doc said I am losing hair. Would eating healthier and excersizing postpone or stop hair loss? I was drinking and smoking quite heavily on weekends, could that have been part of the problem?

And also, are there certain vitamins I should focus on getting in my system to reduce the loss? Are there any longterm products I can take to prevent any future hair loss.

I'm looking for pills that work, Are there any?

I know that's alot of questions, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am going to presume you are a male in generally good health and answer your question(s) accordingly. To begin with, hair loss in men beginning at age 19 is not particularly unusual, but does signal one's genetic predisposition to a fairly significant degree of hair loss as time passes. The best guide to judging your future hair loss is to look at male relatives on both sides of your family. If they experienced hair loss early in life, this is a tendency you may have inherited too.

I was drinking and smoking quite heavily on weekends, could that have been part of the problem?

While drinking and smoking are certainly not good for your health, neither of these habits, to my knowledge, are typically linked to the onset or progression of pattern hair loss. There are three things that need to conspire in order to suffer pattern hair loss. First, genetics; which we've already discussed. Second, age; this means that 9 year old children do not usually suffer from pattern hair loss. And third, circulating hormones; think of hormones as the match that lights the fuse. Put these three factors in motion and you have all the ingredients to suffer from androgenetic alopecia (typical pattern hair loss). Since no one can modify your genetics or age, medical treatments designed to address pattern hair loss target various facets of the hormonal metabolic steps that cause susceptible scalp hair to thin.

And also, are there certain vitamins I should focus on getting in my system to reduce the loss? Are there any longterm products I can take to prevent any future hair loss.

I'm looking for pills that work, Are there any?

At the present time there are several classes of drugs that have been shown to offer positive benefit in treating hair loss. These are topical minoxidil, oral finasteride %26amp; oral dutasteride. Finasteride and dutasteride block the enzyme (5 alpha-reductase) that synthesizes the main problematic hormone (DHT) from substrate (testosterone). Minoxidil seems to influence calcium channel metabolism in a biochemical pathway (too complicated to get into here)---which regulates hair cycling among many other things---in a manner that, to my knowledge, has not yet been fully worked out.

Certain naturally occurring substances, such as saw palmetto and other compounds also seem to offer potential benefit in the context of androgen-mediated disorders (e.g. pattern hair loss). The nice thing about such naturally derived substances is that they are thought to work without the potential for negative side effect. Regardless, as to which among these options offers the right choice for any given person is a question best worked out with the active assistance of one's primary care provider. He/She is a medical expert. He/She also has your best interests at heart.

I know that's alot of questions, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Take your time. Learn as much as you can. Do your product/drug research. Don't let anyone pressure you into jumping into one treatment or another until you have your facts straight. And most importantly, enlist the aid of your treating physician in helping you make the appropriate decisions. Do these things and you stand a good chance of slowing/stopping/possibly reversing your hair loss. Hope that helps...

How can I slow or stop hair loss?

The drinking and smoking are definitely not helping the situation, but there is little you can do to stop it.

1. stop smoking.

2. quit stressing about it. (stress causes hair loss as well)

3. research the type of hair loss you are experiencing. Educate yourself. Some therapy does work and others are a waste. Don't educate yourself on a site trying to sell you something, but instead generic health sites. Figure out if there is treatment, if not, just accept it.

How can I slow or stop hair loss?

Here a few simple home remedies which can be tried at home to control hair fall. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea. Massage well and shampoo.Rub oil into the scalp. Wring out a towel in hot water and wrap it on the head. Keep it on for 15 minutes. Shampoo and dry well. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.

How can I slow or stop hair loss?

Hi There,

Unfortunately there aren't any proven vitamins or minerals to help prevent hair loss, however, thanks to modern technology and medicine there's a lot you can do to slow, stop and correct your male pattern baldness. I went through the same thing you're going through and was pretty bald by my late twenties.

I personally decided to stop hair loss when it was too late, so I had a hair restoration surgery back in July. Since receiving my Bosley hair transplant I have documented the results on my blog, BattleAgainstBald.com. In addition to seeing the results of my Bosley procedure I provide a wealth of information on hair loss and the other methods available to correct it.

As for medications, the only pill proven to help with hair loss is Propecia. I don't use Propecia but all the research shows that it's great for stopping your hair from falling out, but isn't proven to regrow lost hair. There's also Rogaine (or Minoxidil) and the Laser Comb, which you'll also find a lot of information on at BattleAgainstBald.com.

Best of luck in your battle and let me know if you have any other questions.
