Hair extensions and hair breakage?

Has anyone experienced hair breakage due to extensions? A litle over a year ago, I had heavy, glued in extensions removed from my hair. I was devestated at the sight of how thin and sparse it was. At the current time, I do not have any bald spots and hair so thin tupon removal that a little pony tail holder was too big for- is now looking much fuller. What I am experiencing is the under layer of hair coming back and currently in very short pieces. I do my best to volumize my hair (use products such as big sexy hair, sebastian double body shampoo, nexxus thickening shampoo %26amp; conditioner, bed head,super star lotion) %26amp; I also take vitamins, have already seen a doctor who specializes in hair loss and has told me that he saw no real problem, that I was young and healthy and it should take about a year for me to feel totally back to normal. (I got this info. over the summer)

So my question is, has anyone experienced something similar concerning hairloss and what did you do? Advice?Products?

I had the same problem, I had the glue in kind for a couple of years, and I ended up taking them out and leaving them out. My hair was very damaged and thinned out because of it. I think the only realistic option is to just let your hair grow back unless you want to use another type of extenstions, which I wouldnt really reccomend. I cut my hair shorter and am letting it grow back to the fullness I used to have.

So I suggest you cut off some of the damaged portion of your hair, it will instantly look thicker and have more volume. Good luck!

You just have to take care of your diet,and try to be free from worries,that will help.But if you will go after medicines you wont be able to gain something. It is day dreaming. For healthy hair, wash your hair with EGG shampoo every 2 days. The scent may take a while to get used to but it feels really nice on your hair and has a lot of nutrients.

Glued or bonded extensions stay in the hair for 3 - 4 months then have to be removed. They can do damage to the hair and scalp. Glued/bonded extensions can cost from 鎷?50.00-鎷?00.00 depending on where you go to have them put in.

i really don't know which is worse extensions or fake nails, they both cause irreversible damage to nails, but the hair should recover, but it'll take a year or so. depending on how you have it cut. i wore hairpieces for years and now i'm very thin where i pinned them in. don't do it again.

the stylist put too much extension on your hair causing breakage. you should always ask how experienced the stylist is before you get anything done by them. there are MANY different types of extensions, and there are very few people who can not wear them. the only problem is some stylists think they know the best way and it will work on everyone. as you have experienced, this is not so. i frequently wear extensions, and have not once experienced breakage or thinning from them. I had chemically induced hairloss due to wayyy too much bleach, so much that it caused scalp burns and mild hairloss along with severe breakage. I used Nioxin for a few months and my hair is fantasic again. get the shampoo and conditioner. its designed to encourage healthy hairgrowth. they have a bunch of different systems for different hair types. my hair grows 50% faster when i use it. dont go back to that stylist for anything, they are horrible. Ive had HUGE extensions down to my *** for months and my hair was fine when i decided to part with them. do you remember how they wher taken out? some glue removers can cause this kind of breakage, especially if your hair is damaged. if you ever play with the idea of extensions again, look into shrink tubes. massage your scalp often, that helps hair growth, and eat a healthy diet...

Hello, I am a stylist and it sounds like your extensions were just taken out improperly. I wear them all the time and my hair is great. You can try using a tea tree conditioner and/or shampoo. They make you tingle and feel like you are getting a massage. Remember you can never use too much conditioner! Hope this helps!
