My hair is really damaged. help!?

i use to have really really thick hair and within the year it got really thin. I straighten my hair twice a week and i know that's what causes hair loss and stuff. but the only reason y i straighten it is because without it my hair is really frizzy and poofy curls. i use pantene thick and full shampoo/conditioner and when im done washing my hair i use this pantene restoraves damaging defense. and when i straighten my hair i use this thermasilk straightening cream along with this pantene restoravtives frizz control cream. after im done straightening it i use the garnier fructis smoothing milk. so does anyone know any products that can help me get my thick hair back that is cheap (where u can get at target). and what should i do?

SAME. i straighten it everyday and my hair falls out in handfulls lol. i cant stop tho! its those evil hair straightening companies... they WANT to make your hair frizzier so that you keep straightening it! well HA. were onto you! *shakes fist at hair straightening companies* anyway.... use a deep conditioning conditioner and leave it there for 5 minutes before washing it out and then use a leave in conditioner once your hair is sorta damp and only wash it every 2nd day. it goes waaay more silky. maybe get your hair trimmed becasue atleast the ends will be a bit more healthy

If your ends are split, all you can do is cut them. What I do is..if I go to a salon and have them cut my ends, I know they'll take off about at least 2, 3 inches even if not all of the hair is split...so I just find the split ends myself and cut them. I heard that if it is split, you need to cut at least 5 inches because that's how far the damage is on your hair. My hair is still long but I have hair that is shorter (kind of like layers but less obvious) It's better than cutting your hair short.

You should also use a stronger heat protectant. I think using your straightening iron 2 a week isn't bad at all.

I tell you what this problam also happend to me once and my girlfriend helped me with this. She suggested me that i should use "Indian gooseberry Dry powder" and mix it with the egg ......It will stinks a lot but trust me it will help your hair to regain its beauty and thickness. also you shoud concern it with the Doctor (skin specialist).

i have bad news for you. all the products you're using are probably causing more damage. my advice to you is go see a beautician. chances are you need a really good haircut to get rid of the damage. you should tell her what products you are using now, and ask what products you should be using. and tell her that you cannot afford salon products, to please suggest something that will work and is affordable on your budget. and although you might not want to hear this, sometimes you have to spend a little more for products that will work.

you might also want to consider your health, sometimes hair loss is caused by something other than your styling products. thyroid problems are just one of many that can cause hair loss. after seeing the hair dresser you might also want to visit your doctor.
