I dont want to buy yet another product that doesnt work..vets

Does your dog have reoccurring yeast infections in her ears? If she is a floppy eared dog this is common. Plain rubbing alcohol will solve it. If she has an active infection, use it three or more times a day. Lie her on her side and pour a capfull into the ear. (less if she is a small dog) Just don't let it run out into her eyes. It will get the yeast under control in a few days. Then, after the infection is healed, use the alcohol once or twice a week to prevent another occurrence. It will work and costs less than a dollar.

It is not unusual for floppy-eared dogs to have yeast infections over and over and over. Some people say it is an allergy. I think it is simply that air cannot circulate through their ears well. Alcohol does work and costs a lot less than those repeated one and fifty dollar vet visits.

Yes, tried the drops for a dog with yeasty ears.. Gave it a very good try and it did absolutely nothing at all.. Also gave her the tablets at the same time..

Nothing.. The good thing about the whole deal?? They did refund my money when I returned the empty bottles.. Very quickly actually. Even tho they weren't very happy about it, not friendly about it, and accused me of not loving my dog cause I wouldn't use the product for more than a year (cause they said that's how long it would take for yeasty ears, even tho they weren't all that bad.. ) They did in fact refund my money to my Mastercard.

What actually worked in getting rid of the yeasty ears, was switching to the Canidae...

If your dog is having repeated ear/skin infections and your vet can't seem to cure it, ask for a referral to a dermatologist. It will be expensive, but will save you lots (possibly hundreds) in the long term by cutting back on vet visits in the future, not to mention it will save your dog lots of discomfort.

If your dog's infections are caused by allergies, which is quite common, then you need to treat the infections AND get the allergies under control. Benadryl can help mild allergies (call your vet for a proper dose) and for severe allergies there is a medication called Atopica. Atopica is very expensive but it works miracles.

Again, though, I think your best bet is to go to a specialist. I've seen clients decline derm referrals for years, spend lots of money on trying to treat the problem at their regular vet, and eventually have to go to a specialist anyway who cures the problem. If they had just gone to the dermatologist in the first place, they would have been a lot happier (along with their dog!).

I have 2 labs one get bad ear infections alot,due to allergies. I now give her MSM 1000mg, twice a day. Also with her food I give both of them yogurt, in with there food. The yogurt helps cut back of the bacteria that causes yeast infections.
