I sent out a group email last month and I think it had a virus.?

I forwarded a funny email to about 15 friends with different email addresses last month and we all just got a wierd email with all of our names on it from some strangely named company selling hair loss product and other non mentionable medications etc......- All the same names were on the email as I originally sent it and most of my friends in this group DO NOT know each other personally. How did this company email us all? Is this possibly a virus- the title was important message from elizabeth- how did they get my name? What should I tell my friends because I did not send it and I don't know why they got it- Any computer geeks out there to help? Thank you!

Great answer from sr! It helped me to understand that topic better. But to add to it, tell your other friends to add antispy programs to their comp. b/c thier mail could have also been hacked in the process. Everything is connected in one way or another on these thing. Report It
